Danewitz
Combination of Agri-PV and Ground-mounted PV power plant development
The Danewitz project comprises two PV installations: a ground-mounted PV plant with a capacity of 40 MWp and an Agri-PV partly including semi-transparent modules plant with a capacity of 9 MWp. The ground-mounted PV plant is oriented east-west, while the Agri-PV plant is oriented south and features elevated PV installations over berry crops, with a height of 3.5 meters and a row spacing of 2.8 meters. Located northeast of the town boundary, the Agri-PV plant spans from 400 to 800 meters. The project faced the unique challenge of a cross-running gas pipeline and has been submitted to the Fraunhofer ISE research institute for inclusion in the national Agri-PV strategy. A local project development company will be formed to manage the Danewitz project, with a construction duration of approximately 6-12 months. Additionally, the PV plant will be connected to the 110kV grid with an operator-owned substation.
The Danewitz project will supply electricity to approximately 18,000 households. The Agri-PV installation, which will be elevated over berry crops, can provide weather protection, reduced crop damage, and decreased pesticide use.
Throughout the development process, we work closely with the local municipalities and all community residents to inform them and collaboratively develop the project concept.
Multiple informational events about the solar park for citizens and ongoing discussions with individual council members.
Adjustments to project proposals based on community input and close collaboration with local authorities, including the finalization of the fire protection concept.
Regular information distribution about the project in the local newsletter.
Inclusion of community participation in the electricity revenues.
